GREEN PROJECT
A healthy planet at the heart
of the Rainbow project
Our Green Project started in 2015, when we purchased our first entirely gas-powered (LNG) trucks. We were one of the first transport companies in Italy to experiment with this type of vehicles to reduce CO2 emissions from diesel-powered vehicles.
After this first step, in the following years we set goals so we could implement our project:
We have almost entirely replaced our fleet of diesel-fueled vehicles (euro 6) with the latest generation LNG vehicles.
Our gas vehicles are powered only and entirely by biogas from renewable sources.
We have built a biogas filling station for our vehicles at our Piacenza headquarters.
We sort recyclable waste and use recycled paper in all our locations.
Our Piacenza facility uses renewable energy from solar panels.
But that’s not all
These were just some examples of the main objectives that we successfully completed in recent years as part of our “green project”, placing them as a basis for our next goals:
To convert our fleet vehicles to gas-powered vehicles entirely by 2024.
To reduce the CO2 emissions of our container handling crane; despite being very modern (euro 6), we would like to modify the engine to make it possible to use diesel fuel at the same time as biogas, which would significantly reduce the use of diesel and emissions from its combustion.
To purchase electric vehicles for short-haul transport activities from Piacenza.
